Background and Training

Zach’s passion for fitness started early. Growing up in northeast Texas, he was deeply involved in baseball and sports performance from the age of 10. 

"I’ve been training since I was 10 years old... I didn’t really know what I was doing at first; I just looked up stuff in magazines. But I learned along the way, went to school, and became passionate about fitness," Zach explains. This early interest evolved into a career. 

After moving to Houston, he worked in various gyms, including well-known names like Lifetime and Equinox where he honed his skills and gained invaluable experience. After six years at Equinox, Zach felt ready to pursue his passion independently, focusing on one-on-one tailored programs. This transition allowed him to focus on what he believes is most effective: individualized training that addresses specific needs.

BlazePod in His Routine

Zach incorporates BlazePod into his training to help clients of all ages and abilities improve their reaction time and neurological systems. 

"BlazePod offers great products... There are definitely benefits throughout. For instance, you can work on reaction time or improve your neurological system with complex drills.” 

He emphasizes that training the ability to react under pressure is crucial for real-life situations. One of his favorite drills he has created, Cone Triangle Focus, involves three Pods in a triangular formation, which he uses to challenge clients. 

"These are great because you can track each individual tap and its timing,"highlighting the importance of data-driven training.

For those starting their fitness journeys, Zach's advice is clear: "Master your craft". He cautions against trying to be a jack-of-all-trades, recommending instead that trainers "zone in on what you're passionate about and what you feel would be beneficial to the community". 

He stresses the importance of the business aspect of training, advising to learn how to run a successful business and connect effectively with people. 

"You can be the best trainer in the world, but if you can't effectively relate to people, it doesn't matter". 

As for staying motivated, Zach says, "I know people are watching my actions closely," holding himself to a high standard. He believes in practicing what he preaches, which keeps him motivated and on track.
